Hey daar πŸ‘‹

Wat kan ik je over de-armourinstherapie vertellen?

At Studio ES, de-armouring therapy is a possible part of the Phoenix Rising journey β€” a personal transformation journey in which I guide your body toward what is ready to be released. Studio ES is a recognised The Gaia Method practice.

Is de-armouring right for you?

De-armouring therapy is likely for you if you recognize yourself in one or more of these experiences:

  • πŸ˜– You have chronic pain for which your doctor can find no medical explanation
  • πŸ˜– You have spots on your body that are so sensitive that touch is UNBEARABLE β€” causing itching, burning, or anxiety
  • πŸ˜– Parts of your body feel numb, as if the connection has been severed
  • πŸ˜– You have persistent tension that ALWAYS returns, regardless of how much physiotherapy or massage you do
  • πŸ˜– Your mind understands the problem after therapy, but your body refuses to move along
  • πŸ˜– You experience pain, numbness, or blockages in your intimate life β€” or you notice your body SHUTTING DOWN where you want to open up
  • πŸ˜– You have difficulty ENJOYING sexuality, even though there is no medical cause
  • πŸ˜– You struggle with sexual dysfunctions that affect your life and your relationships πŸ§ β†”οΈπŸ«€

Gentle touch, deep impact 🀲

De-armouring is a form of body therapy focused on resolving body armour β€” tension, numbness, and emotional charge that have settled into your tissue after overwhelming experiences.

I work according to The Gaia Method, developed by Danish psychotherapist, sexologist, and midwife Susanne Roursgaard. No brute force to break open the armour β€” but a gentle invitation to your body to let go of what is no longer needed. I am a certified Gaia Method practitioner and have completed several training modules, including Advanced Sexuality – dysfunction, arousal & de-armouring. 🌿

And that last part is NOT without reason.

The deepest blockages often nestle exactly where we are most vulnerable: in our intimacy. And the cause is rarely what people think.

For women, the most common source of sexual trauma is not a violent assault. It is the REPEATED moments within a relationship where the body felt ‘no’, but the head said ‘yes’ anyway. Time and time again. Until the body protected itself by SHUTTING DOWN β€” resulting in pain, numbness, or the inability to enjoy.

For men, it often involves deep performance pressure and significant shame surrounding sexual experiences that didn’t go as expected. That shame settles in the body and creates the very dysfunctions that then CONFIRM the shame. ♻️

De-armouring in the intimate region is therefore not an afterthought β€” it is often the CORE of the work. It never happens in a first session and always within a safe framework of trust that we build together. Your body determines the pace, not me. Not your idea of what the problem is β€” your body.

Questions about de-armouring

What is body armour?

When we go through overwhelming experiences, our nervous system responds with a wave of emotions and tension. That is a natural protective response. But when our system becomes overloaded β€” especially in our younger years β€” those emotions and tension can linger in the body for a long time as body armour. This can form in any type of tissue: muscles, connective tissue, organs, even on the bones. The term was originally described by Dr. Wilhelm Reich, a student of Sigmund Freud, whose work helped form the basis for body psychotherapy.

What are the benefits of de-armouring?

Most people report noticeably less tension, more energy, and the ability to feel and express emotions more easily after a journey of 3-5 sessions. Depending on the specific complaint, many also report a reduction in chronic pain, increased sensitivity in previously numb areas, more tolerance for touch in hypersensitive spots, and a deeper experience of their intimate life. Some report in the months following that they are inspired to make major changes in their lives, or that fears that seemed ineradicable for years have suddenly disappeared.

Is de-armouring available as a single session?

No. At Studio ES, de-armouring is only available as part of the Phoenix Rising journey. Lasting change requires time and trust. De-armouring is deep bodywork that requires a safe therapeutic relationship and space for integration between sessions. Within the journey, I combine de-armouring with coaching, tantric energy work, and shibari healing β€” tailored to what your body needs.

When is de-armouring NOT the right starting point?

De-armouring is not a medical treatment. It cannot heal damaged tissue and cannot do anything about nerve damage. Are you suffering from chronic pain? ALWAYS consult your doctor first to rule out medical causes. De-armouring is a complementary modality that addresses the psychosomatic dimension. It strengthens the effects of therapy but does not replace it.

Is all body armour problematic?

No. Every adult carries body armour with them, and the goal is not to remove all of it. It is the symptomatic armouring β€” that which causes complaints or holds you back β€” that we treat in de-armouring therapy.
